Zirconia Refractory Brick

Before you search the Zirconia Brick in the Internet, you may have so many questions such as: What is an introduction for the zircon brick? Where is zircon brick mainly used? What is the specific chemical and physical index for Zircon bricks? RS can help you solve these problems.

High Quality RS Group Zirconia Bricks for Sale

Zirconia bricks / Zircon brick produced by stable zircon sand have the advantage of mechanical strength, excellent stability to thermal shock, resistance to corrosion, high refractoriness under load and inertness, high density, etc. It is widely used in glass furnace, non-ferrous metal smelting furnace, and pure steel furnace.

What is the main applications of zircon brick?

Zirconia bricks are mainly used in the glass industry. They are installed as lining for working ends and feeder channels in melting tanks. Consequently, zircon refractories are only installed in the lower bottom courses of the melting tank with lower temperatures if soda - lime glass is being produced.

Why is Zircon Brick mainly used in the glass industry?

Zircon bricks has a very high melting point of 2700˚C. Zirkon bricks is a highly refractory material with good resistance to corrosion. In addition, zircon refractories have an important function as seperation layer between silica and fusion cast materials in order to prevent contact reactions.

In the glass industry bricks out of zircon and corundum are installed occasionally. Such bricks have higher corrosion resistance against glass than pure zircon and are also installed in glass contact areas or in the superstructure of glass melting tanks.

The Zircon - corundum materials are also advantageous for hot repair work due to their more favorable thermal shock resistance in comparison to the fusion cast meterials usually installed.

Refractory mixes on a corundum –zirkon base are ofter installed in bottoms of glass melting tanks as a monolothic bottom layer fort he upper paving course out of fusion cast bottom plates.

Typical Application for Zirconia Bricks:
  • Ladle lining for metallurgical industry
  • Glass contact portion of alkali free or low-alkali glass melting furnace
  • Soda-lime glass kiln as neutral brick, skew brick
  • Paving and sub paving, channel blocks, sidewall of meter of glass fiber furnace and floating glass tanks
  • Upper area of flame space or frequent thermal shock region, lining of alkali-free or low-alkali glass, sodium-calcium glass, boron-silicate glass, ceramic glass, lead glass, and other technical glass melting furnace
  • Special region of glass tank, such as paving part and secondary layer of paving bottom, back lining, wall and bottom of fore hearth, flowing spout and spinning portion, melter, etc.
  • Transition region between up roof silica brick and fusion zirconia-corundum brick or fusion zirconia-mullite brick
  • Transition region between silica brick and magnesia brick, areas of crown, burner, thermal couple, peep hole, and secondary layer of melter bottom and its back lining, etc
RS Group Refractories handle many types of Zirconia/Zircon bricks and other Zircon related refractory bricks: High quality Zircon Brick, AZS Brick or bonded AZS brick, Oxidized Fused Cast AZS Brick, and Zirconia-Mullite Brick, etc. Please contact RS for detailed information and datasheet of the best quality at the most competitive prices worldwide.
