Several Common used Low Cement Castables

High-strength low cement castables are formulated with pure calcium aluminate cement as the binder. The maximum use temperature of this castable reaches 1600℃. It also has good wear resistance at high temperatures. High-strength low cement castables are suitable for garbage rotary kilns and various parts with high temperatures and strong corrosion.

The low cement castable with fused white corundum as aggregate is low cement corundum castable. This castable has high mechanical strength, erosion resistance, and abrasion resistance. The maximum operating temperature is 1700℃, and the low cement corundum castable is suitable for above 1400℃. Large cement kiln mouth with severe impact and abrasion, multi-tube cooler elbow, and other parts are used. And it is suitable for parts where the furnace temperature exceeds 1400℃.

High alumina low cement castables are developed on the basis of fireclay combined with refractory castables. Its main varieties are low cement, ultra-low cement, no cement or ultrafine powder and sol combined refractory castables. It combines the advantages of most refractory castables, with high density, low porosity, high strength, low wear, heat resistance, and corrosion resistance. Comparison of High Alumina Low Cement Castable with Traditional High Alumina Castables

The traditional high alumina refractory castable is made of refractory aggregate and high alumina cement. The particle gradation of the aggregate part is not as fine as the low cement castable. The cement particles are also relatively coarse, the amount of cement added is large, and the amount of construction water added is also large. In addition, the amount of cement is large and coarse, so that the cement cannot be completely hydrated, especially at the temperature of 800 ℃, there is basically no strength. Therefore, the performance of high alumina castables is not as good as low cement refractory castables.
