Special Grade High Alumina Brick-Corundum Brick

Special grade high alumina brick is a dense special grade high alumina brick with high compressive strength and high density. The firing temperature of this

high-alumina brick is similar to that of ordinary high-alumina bricks, with low energy consumption and low cost. Its service life in the kiln is twice that of ordinary high-alumina refractory bricks. It uses special-grade bauxite clinker calcined in a rotary kiln as aggregate, with a particle size of 1smm to 3smm. Weight ratio: 40% to 45%, adding bauxite clinker powder and fine powder: 45% to 51%. Soft clay: 7% to 10%, a small amount of kyanite powder: 3 to 5%. And it consists of 4% to 5% of adhesive pulp waste liquid. During production, the bauxite clinker needs to be crushed and sieved, and the powders are mixed and ground together. After batching, mixing, shaping, and drying, it is fired into refractory bricks at 1440~1460℃.

Special Grade High Alumina Brick

Special grade high alumina bricks are high alumina refractory bricks with an aluminum oxide content of more than 80%. Since the refractory temperature is greater than 1790 degrees Celsius, it is an advanced refractory material. It is a commonly used material for the lining of high-temperature kilns. It uses special-grade high-aluminum vanadium clinker as the main raw material, soft clay and waste pulp, and paper liquid as the binding agent to form mud. It is made by high-pressure molding, drying, and high-temperature firing and is a sintered refractory brick.

Application of special high alumina bricks

Special-grade high alumina bricks are mainly used for electric furnace covers (furnace tops) and blast furnaces (furnace bodies). Partition walls of hot blast stoves, ladle linings, steel drums, and hot metal trucks. Cement kiln, glass kiln, and other thermal kiln linings. Widely used in iron-making, steel-making, chemical industry, cement, and other industries.

The difference between special high alumina bricks and ordinary high alumina bricks

1. The density of raw materials.

The raw material used for special-grade high-alumina bricks is special-grade bauxite clinker calcined in a rotary kiln as aggregate, with an AL2O3 content of more than 85% and a density greater than 2.8g/cm3. The raw materials used for general-purpose high-alumina bricks generally have a density of about 75% AL2O3 and a density of about 2.6. Therefore, the difference between the products produced by the two raw materials is very big.

2. High refractory resistance.

Refractory resistance is a hard indicator in high-alumina brick products. The refractory resistance of general-purpose high-alumina bricks is 1780°C. The refractoriness of special grade high alumina bricks is 1820℃.

3. Stability of mullite phase.

The crystal phase of high-aluminum products is mainly composed of mullite, glass phase, and corundum phase. However, the higher the Al2O3 content, the greater the proportion of the corundum phase.

High alumina bricks are composed of mullite and glass. As the Al2O3 content increases, the mullite content in the high alumina bricks increases and the glass phase decreases. At the same time, the strong network structure formed by long columnar mullite grains in the brick helps to increase the load-softening temperature of the product.

Corundum bricks. The mass fraction of Al2O3 in special high alumina bricks is 80%~85%. The load softening temperature is less affected by the Al2O3 content.

Improve the purity of raw materials and change the chemical mineral composition of the matrix. Reduce the number of glass phases and adjust the glass phase composition. It is the key to improving the high-temperature structural strength, thermal shock stability, and slag resistance of special high-alumina bricks.

High alumina refractory bricks are one of the types of refractory bricks and have a wide range of uses. According to the alumina content, it can be divided into special-grade high alumina refractory bricks, first-grade high alumina refractory bricks, second-grade high alumina refractory bricks, and third-grade high alumina refractory bricks. Special-grade high-alumina refractory bricks refer to refractory bricks with an alumina content of more than 98%, also known as corundum bricks. Special-grade high-alumina refractory bricks and corundum bricks are generally white in color and are mainly used in high-temperature ceramic kilns, metallurgical blast furnaces, etc.
